4195 Direct-to-Concrete Pigmented Epoxy
Product Details
Versatile 4195 Direct-to-Concrete Pigmented Epoxy is built with our wicking technology, which draws it deep into the slab for a powerful mechanical bond and makes it an excellent direct-to-concrete primer. It's a 95% solids primer and base coat that holds back up to 8 lbs of moisture vapor and lets your crew broadcast flake right into the first coat, with no separate primer.
Why contractors choose 4195
- Excellent adhesion in one coat. Broadcast flake directly into 4195 and skip a separate build coat step.
- Wicking technology for a deeper bond. It wicks deep into the slab and still bonds over damp concrete, with 450 psi adhesion.
- Handles moisture up to 8 lbs. Tested by the 72-hour calcium chloride method.
- Time to work. A 60 minute pot life, and 41 Series Accelerator turns it into a one-day install.
- Color built in. 10 colors, from Slate Grey and Charcoal to Cottonwood.
Where to use it
Any concrete floor that needs a strong, colored base under flake, metallic or a solid color finish.
- Residential garages
- Commercial warehouses and shops
- Industrial floors
- Retail floors and showrooms
- Basements and on-grade slabs with moisture up to 8 lbs

Builds with
4195 is the base of our Roll On Rock flake system: diamond grind the surface, apply 4195, full broadcast flake, then topcoat with 5085 Ultra-High Solids Polyaspartic. It's also the base coat under 4750 Lava Flow Metallic Epoxy. Epoxy yellows in sunlight, so always finish with a UV-stable topcoat.
Common questions
Do I need a primer under 4195?
No. 4195 is designed to go direct to concrete. You can flake directly into the first coat.
What if the slab tests over 8 lbs of moisture?
Step up to 4150 Moisture-Blocking Pigmented Epoxy Primer, which holds back up to 15 lbs.
What makes 4195 different?
Due to our proprietary wicking technology, the 4195 Epoxy develops an incredible bond strength to concrete, even under cool and damp conditions. It can even wick into concrete that has tough grease stains a degreaser can't fully remove.
